IMPORTANT NOTES: 

ALL STUDENTS MUST REGISTER FOR MYSFP. Be sure to use a valid email address and to register for the correct course and class.

Any student who is absent must make up any and all missed work. It is the student's responsibility to find out what work was missed and to request a make-up. 

Students must be prepared for class everyday. Being prepared means having the correct books, pens and pencils, a fully charged iPad and being on time.

The Honor Code is strictly observed in this class and applies to everything we do.  Students are expected to adhere to the school's honor code policy.

Hound of the Baskervilles HOMEWORK:  Read chapters 10-12 of The Hound of the Baskervilles.  Write one well-developed paragraph for each chapter (three paragraphs in total) explaining the events of that chapter using at least six specific quotes from the text (identify source page numbers for each quote) and create one detailed question for each chapter (three questions in total).  A Period Due: Thursday, 1/17 (Day 6)  E Period Due :Wednesday, 1/16 (Day 5) G Period Due:Due: Tuesday, 1/22 (Day 1)

SONNET EXTRA CREDIT DUE: Wednesday, 1/16 (Day 5) Memorize one of Shakespeare's sonnets that we did NOT cover in class and plan on presenting it to the class.

Renaissance Poetry Exam: Monday, 1/14 (Day 3)

A, E and G periods - Tuesday, 12/11: Study for tomorrow’s Medieval Period Exam, work on vocabulary unit #8 (due Friday) and read chapters 4-6 of Baskervilles/work on paragraphs and questions.

***Poetry Out Loud Performances 12/19:  On this day, all students who wish to be considered for the schoolwide Poetry Out Loud competition should be prepared to perform a poem for the class. On this day, performing students should provide me with a copy of the poem (so that I can check lines), and they should then perform the poem from memory (students are not permitted to have a copy of the poem in front of them).  The poem performed must also be one of the approved poems listed on https://www.poetryoutloud.org/ ***

Beowulf Essay Corrections due: Monday, 11/19 (Day 3).  Be sure to highlight all corrections and attach the original essay to the revised copy.

Be sure to obtain a copy of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's novel, The Hound of the Baskervilles for use in class on Monday, 11/26 (day 6).

Ender's Game Exam: Friday, 11/16 (Day 2).

Bring all binder supplies in to class on Monday.  Be sure to obtain a copy of Orson Scott Card's novel, Ender's Game for use in class on Friday, 9/14  Day 6 (A period), Thursday, 9/13 Day 5 (E period), and Tuesday, 9/18 Day 1 (G period).
