ALL STUDENTS MUST REGISTER FOR GOOGLE CLASSROOM, TURNITIN.COM AND MYSFP. Be sure to use a valid SFP email address and register for the correct course and class on all forums.

Any student who is absent must make up any and all missed work. It is the student's responsibility to find out what work was missed and to request a make-up.  All assignments/quizzes/exams will be posted on GOOGLE CLASSROOM.

Students must be prepared for class everyday. Being prepared means having the correct books, pens and pencils, a fully charged iPad and being on time, whether learning in person or remotely.

The Honor Code is strictly observed in this class and applies to everything we do. Students are expected to adhere to the school's honor code policy.

Please be sure to check Google Classroom DAILY for news on upcoming assignments, quizzes and exams!

Hello Juniors!

Welcome to English 11 Honors!  This is a fantastic course that will focus on American Literature from its earliest works to the present day.  We will cover some really great texts, hopefully have some interesting discussions, and challenge ourselves to think and interpret beyond our usual boundaries. I’m so glad you chose to take this course because that tells me that you are looking to challenge yourselves and I promise to do just that!

If we have learned anything over the last 18 months, it’s that we need to be resilient and to think outside of the box.  All I ask of you is to do your best, be open minded, and be flexible. We are in this together. I'm excited to be teaching this course and I look forward to getting to know you better as the year progresses!  Do not hesitate to speak with me should you have any questions or concerns. My email is [email protected] for anyone who might find it easier/necessary to communicate this way instead of in person.  While this will be a rigorous course and I will expect you to put in a good deal of effort,  I am confident that you will push yourselves to be the best English scholars you can be. Always remember these words from Ralph Waldo Emerson: "Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm!"

This year will be what we make of it. Let us do our best to make it great one!

I look forward to meeting you in person/online on Friday, 9/10.

Ms. Rizzi-Lorenz
