COURSE REQUIREMENTS AND GRADING
TITLE OF COURSE: Music 2520 Music Lessons
LEVEL: 9, 10, 11, 12 Dr. Corbino
SCHOOL YEAR: 2015 - 2016
Music 2520 is a course within the Skill Development area of the music curriculum. This course will focus on improving the student’s performance skills on their chosen instrument.
The students should be able to:
A) Perform all warm-up exercises
B) Perform all assignments from the method book utilized
C) Perform all ensemble parts assigned to this student
EVALUATION AND GRADING:
The grade will be determined by the instructor’s assessment of the student’s improvement and progresson their instrument. Additional factors to be considered at the discretion of the instructor are as follows:
A) Equipment & Supplies
B) Attention and Participation during the lesson
C) Maturity Level
D) Knowledge of and ability to perform the assigned parts
E) Extra credit (at teacher’s discretion)
A) Students with 2 cuts will receive a grade no higher than 70.
B) Students with 3 cuts will receive a grade of 55.
C) Arriving late or leaving early will reduce the average by 5 points per incident.
One half hour (minimum) of daily individual practice is required of every student in this course.
