Get a first hand look at St. Francis Preparatory School. A Buddy Day is an opportunity for eighth grade students
to spend the day at St. Francis Preparatory School and experience what it is like to be a member of the Prep
family. Students who apply are paired with a St. Francis Student, usually a freshman for the day to attend
classes, go to lunch and get a true feel for the life at Prep.
How do I schedule a Buddy Day?
Buddy Days for accepted eighth grade students start in early October. Please click HERE application for dates available. Only 8th grade students can apply.
Once the application has been processed we will confirm with your assigned date. St. Francis Preparatory
reserves the right to decide on the number of students who participate in Buddy Days on a particular day.
Students are responsible to notify their grammar school that they will be absent from school for a Buddy Day.
What time should I arrive, and when will I be dismissed?
On your assigned day you should enter through the main entrance to the security desk between 8:00 and 8:15.
A member of the Admission team will meet you and introduce you to your SFP Buddy. Eighth graders
will be escorted back to the Admissions Office at 2:00 where they can be picked up at the completion of their day.
What do I do for lunch?
You need not bring lunch. St. Francis Prep will provide you with a lunch voucher. Snacks may be
purchased separately. Students may bring their own lunch and/or snacks.
What is the dress code for Buddy Days?
Eighth graders are asked to dress nicely, a collared shirt or polo shirt, dress pants and flat shoes.
Do not wear jeans, t-shirts, pajama pants, athletic wear, or sandals. While the eighth grade students are
not required to wear their current uniform or the St. Francis Prep uniform they are asked to dress
appropriately. Any eighth grade student not dressed appropriately will not be able to participate in
their Buddy Day. Please no cell phones or other electronic devices in the school. If you need to make a
phone call, you may do so in the Admissions Office at any time.
If you need to cancel or reschedule please call (718) 423-8810 ext. 264. In the event of inclement weather,
eighth grade students who are scheduled may still participate on delayed start days. Check the website for the
scheduled start time and plan to arrive in our main lobby 15 to 20 minutes ahead of time. If you have any
further questions please contact Admissions.
