Trend Alert: Guys

By Starr Bowenbank 13

Spring is right around the corner, which means that your favorite stores are beginning to stock up on the freshest trends in fashion for the spring season. With stripes, khaki, and primary colors dominating fashion’s most prominent runways, you’ll be able to find what truly fits your unique style. All of these trends can be easily dressed up or dressed down.

Tops: The Striped Shirt

This simple, yet classic nautical wardrobe staple is making its way back into stores everywhere this spring. This look can be easily dressed up or dressed down. To dress this look up, simply pair your striped shirt in the color of your choice with a tailored blazer to give the striped shirt a definitive look. To dress this look down, pair your striped shirt with your favorite pair of jeans and sneakers. Don’t accessorize; a minimalist look is favored to keep the look as crisp and clean as possible.

Bottoms: The Khaki Pant

Khaki is another big trend of the spring season. Although khakis seem like something you can fish out of your father’s closet, they can be given a modern flair. The new khakis are worn in the form of skinny or slim fit pants with many different color choices to satisfy you to your heart’s content. To dress up this trend, wear a plain t-shirt with a cardigan to create a smart, yet effortless look. Brown or black dress shoes can be worn to add sophistication. To dress this trend down, simply pair your khakis with a graphic T-shirt and the sneakers of your choice.

Shoes: Primary Colors

Shoes in bright, primary colors are a new trend that provides any outfit with an essential and stylish pop of color. These are almost always worn in the form of a casual sneaker and add visual interest. The primary colored sneaker can be paired with virtually anything in your wardrobe, making it a very versatile item to have in your closet.
