Door Decorating Contest

By Shaminy Manoranjithan 13

It was that time of the year again: St. Francis Prep got into the holiday spirit with its annual door decorating contest. Hoping to win a dress down day, Cors competed against each other, decorating their doors to represent the Christmas spirit. Starting the week of December 13, Cors had a week to decorate. Students brain stormed ideas and decorated every day during Cor time. Many students and teachers went above and beyond by sacrificing their personal time and staying late to work after school!

A week later, the student government judged all the decorated doors and picked six winners, one for each hallway (ie. West bottom, east middle, etc). “It’s a really big part of Christmastime,” says sophomore Emily Grasso. “It shows the true essence of the Christmas spirit.”

The Christmas spirit was certainly felt in the hallways of Prep. The door decorating contest had many contestants, and all did a remarkable job! The winners of the contest were the following: Cor 115 in East Top, Cor 207 in East Middle, Cor 312 in East Bottom, Cor 406 in West Top, Cor 218 in West Middle, and Cor 318 in West Bottom. Congratulations to the Cors that won, and to all who participated!
